What is Kudasai?
Kudasai is a Guild in Albion Online. It's name comes from the Japanese word 'please'. The name is abstract and meaningless, but the guild has meaning and purpose.
Why was Kudasai started?
Kudasai was started because I wanted to make a guild to grant access to a growing group of players who I felt would deserve to benefit from the player island I have been building. It was built initially to allow new players to continue using crafting stations without extortionate usage fee taxes. I envisioned a guild that would respect the concept that Albion Online has 3 paths of growth, Gathering, Crafting & Combat. Therefore, anyone who values 1 of these paths as higher than another, is not suitable for Kudasai. That doesn't mean members cannot focus on 1, it just means members shoud not mistreat others who focus on a different path.
What should members expect from Kudasai?
You should expect to find players who speak English, and are willing to answer questions about the game to the best of their ability, but where we do not know the answer please try asking in the Help channel instead. Kudasai members are all entitled to use my player island which has 12 crafting stations at tier 6 and higher, currently set to 0% usage fees.
For players who have been joining and want to do dungeons, we have a title system that members who express an interest in doing dungeons get the 'Dungeoneer' title. This is to help you identify other members of the guild who wish to dungeon too. Secondly you can try asking on discord, as this is a way to communicate with guild members when they are not logged into the game. Third, you can try asking in our alliance chat. Forth, You can recommend a member for recruitment and a rank may invite them at their discretion for you. As you become more acquainted with the guild, you may be granted the right to invite members in. That is your opportunity to help us shape the guild the way you want it to be.
What does Kudasai expect from members?
Acknowledge our 'No griefing' policy. Respect for fellow guild members is important. Also, member's progression can be fast compared to other guilds, or it can be slow. It depends on how you behave. Bear in mind, my intention for this guild is to spearhead a positive impact on the comunity, by eradicating the typicality of new players being lost and alone; easy targets for potato farming scams, or being insulted for not having a lot of knowledge of the game, or being harrassed for not playing the game in the community's 'popular way'. The way an individual wishes to play, is to be respected.
What are Kudasai's weaknesses?
Our main weakness is being a new guild. When compared side by side to a guild that has existed for 3 years, the most viable feature of Kudasai is a leadership that aims to promote members who show good conduct, towards other guild members & our allies. Ideally that would extend to good conduct towards everyone, but that is not something I believe in. I think people should be treated with adaptation depending on how they behave. But inside our group, good conduct towards others is expected.
Being a new guild, members might struggle when they want to start gathering in the red or black zone, because generally the way the game is designed, you need support from an alliance that has 9000 members to be safe. That isn't a challenge that can be overcome in a day, or a week, a month, but maybe in several.
So a member who is impatient, will not be happy in this guild. It's best for you to go find a major alliance guild.
What are Kudasai's strengths?
Kudasai is unique in that it aims to serve as a training guild for the newest of players to develop in. It has english speakers, which means that the timezones can be highly spread out, so that someone you can talk to is online throughout the day. We now kick members who do not interact with other members enough, to ensure interaction levels remain functional. The values are not clearly defined, but it's something our ranks and myself monitor with a monthly audit.
What is Kudasai's plan for the future?
To keep getting better at what we are trying to do. To grow as individual members, and improve our interactions as a group, and to continue adapting to the needs of the players. To find a balance between being a well moderated and intolerant of toxicity-type guild, and being relaxed and beneficial to the casual player.
What is MMXIX?
MMXIX is an alliance brand. I sometimes call it 'Meow Mix'. MMXIX means 2019 in roman numerals. I chose it as alliance tags allow 5 characters, limiting the options of words that can be chosen creatively.
Why was MMXIX started?
MMXIX was started to connect guilds that were being started by friends of mine. It had very simple beginnings, but as Kudasai started to grow and recruit members who had expectations to log in and immediately have 4 other players to go to a dungeon with, this pressured me to recruit more. However, as I did not want to drop the standard of opting for quality over quantity, I decided to utilise alliance guild features as a way to keep Kudasai's community protected, while increasing the amount of players Kudasai members could attend a dungeon with.
What should members expect from MMXIX?
Members should expect that they will not be betrayed in a risk zone by any alliance member. Members should expect an increasing amount of activity from the alliance chat tab, and I would recommend that all MMXIX members use the arrow above the chatbox to edit the options, to allow Guild and Alliance feeds simultaneously. You can only add the Party chat feed when you are in a party, so join one with a friend to add party to your chatbox also. That is the best way for us to be able to interact more and get the most out of the alliance system. One of the reasons people complain about a lack of activity in game, is due to a lack of player's understanding of how to edit the chatbox.
This is one of the reasons I started a guild. There are many features new players do not understand, and somebody has to be patient enough to explain it to them, while to a veteran it is mindlessly basic.
What does MMXIX expect from members?
MMXIX expects members to eventually get discord. I do not like to force people to download a program they do not yet have, but in order to make this alliance as beneficial to your gameplay as possible, a way to overcome the confusion found with editing the chatbox is to use discord. Connect with your alliance members that way. It will also allow you to determine how many of your allies are online and when. Until this happens, criticisms of activity are somewhat irrelevant.
When it comes to voice chat, this is not an expectation. Shotcallers are players who will give direction to others when any group activities that require quick instruction, such as GvG and ZvZ are taking place. In this scenario I ask that members allow the function to listen in, even if you are unable to use the speaking side of voice chat.
MMXIX expects that once guild members are made aware that I allow my player island to be used by our alliance's members, I would like guild leaders to notify their guild members of this. I believe this is a way to build loyalty to the MMXIX brand as we are actually willing to help them as our own. As this is a new alliance, more expectations may be added, but for now we are keeping things simple. Let's connect and do our best to improve our interaction. Any suggestions from MMXIX guild leaders are more than welcome. We wish to operate democratically and improve efficiency.
What are MMXIX's weaknesses?
MMXIX's major weakness is that it is new, unorganized, currently chaotic as it is settling into a new formation. This is a temporary state, but it is an honest and fair observation. That however is the same way this galaxy was formed, so its potential is not to be overlooked.
What are MMXIX's strengths?
MMXIX's main strength is that is being run by a leader who is willing to give his all to make it work. I will not run from the challenge, even though I am aware of how difficult the challenge may be. Another strength is that since I have learned from past mistakes of making decisions alone, I am now referring to second opinions of some of the most brilliant people I have met in my life. I am very lucky to have that support, and that is why I am willing to put the effort in, regardless of the amount of harrassment, criticism and doubt I have had to face. Aside from this, we have many options to consider.
What is MMXIX's plan for the future?
MMXIX will clearly define the difference between the Kudasai project and the MMXIX project. Kudasai is an academy to act as a cocoon for a new player's growth towards reaching self-sufficiency. MMXIX is an alliance that aims to be able to quickly and easily form dungeon parties through the entire 24 hour period of a day; throughout the entire period of a week. We are also looking at connecting with guilds internationally, not only sticking with commonly accepted language barriers. We aim to surpass current criticisms and evolve into something that will be able to support gatherers in the black zone. This is not an immediately reachable goal, but it is our ultimate goal.
